Mission Statement

The mission of the Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District is to protect the public by
mitigating the impact of emergency and hazardous situations through effective
prevention, preparedness and response programs.
 
 


Welcome to the Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District web site. We hope the information provided will help you learn more about the department.

The Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District was formed in early 2001. (Formerly, the Danville Volunteer Fire Department formed in 1938) The district covers 186 square miles consisting of 6 townships including Brown, Jefferson, Union, Howard, Harrison and Butler and two villages, Danville and Brinkhaven.

The district responded to approximately 1200 calls in 2007. The district has two stations, Station One in Danville and Station Two in Howard. The District has a fleet of 16 vehicles and two boats. Which include 4 Engines, 3 ALS Medics, Heavy Rescue, Tanker, Ladder, Grass Vehicles and a Chiefs Vehicle.
